Ohio Police release video of person in a blow up doll mask putting a ransom note on home owners door, officials say it was just a prank

Police in Ohio released a video on Monday that showed a person in a blow up doll mask putting an envelope on a person’s door and driving off.

On Monday, the Sheffield Lake Police Department released a video asking for assistance identifying a person in the video or the truck they were getting into.

Tuesday morning the police department released a statement after they found out more information.

Police say the resident received a ransom letter and a photograph of a little girl. The residents said they did not recognize the girl in the photo or the vehicle in the video.

During the investigation, police say the individual in the video is an associate of the resident and the incident was meant to be a prank by the associate.

Police say there has been no kidnapping and the public was never in danger.

Police say the name of the suspects will not be released until the investigation is over and the investigation is being reviewed by a prosecutor for criminal charges.
