Costco isn’t just a place to shop great deals on groceries, appliances, and clothes, it’s also a place to grab a quick bite to eat! Almost all Costco locations have a food court inside, boasting menu items including the iconic hot dog and drink combo, pizza, ice cream, sandwiches, and chocolate chip cookies. While many of these are fan favorites, the big box store just added a new menu item that isn’t exactly receiving a warm welcome from loyal customers. Keep reading to find out why the new Chicken & Bacon Sandwich is far from a hit.

The new sandwich had big shoes to fill, coming after classics like the Turkey Provolone Sandwich and the BBQ Brisket Sandwich, and though it sounds good in theory—what's better than chicken and bacon?—but according to fans, it missed the mark.

Featuring sliced oven roasted chicken breast, cheddar cheese, bacon jam, and a mayo and mustard blend on a Ciabatta bun as the main events, with the appropriate dressage, of course—crisp lettuce, juicy tomato—it seems like it should be a delicious meal. Except when you read the calorie count—920 calories for one sandwich!

Customers React to Costco's Chicken & Bacon Sandwich

Many Costco fans broke the news to the greater public on social media, posting Instagram Reels and TikToks showing the new sandwich, but the reception wasn't great. "Why do they waste resources on these new unappetizing items?" one person asked.

"Ugh that bread looks so unappetizing," another person agreed.

"Does it taste as dry as it looks?" asked a third person.

"That bacon looks disgusting," shared another customer.

"That is NOT worth 920 calories," one user said.

"Gross," another said. "Walmart called. They want their bland food back.

"Nah, looks like overpriced crap," a final customer commented.
