Jessica Simpson has been forced to confirm that she has not started drinking again, after a fan urged her to stop drinking in the comments section of her latest Instagram post.

The 44-year-old Newlyweds alum has come under fire for her behavior – which includes slurred speech – in her Instagram videos for many years now, with fans always wondering whether it could have been caused by alcohol or drugs.

The Instagram post in question was an adorable black and white picture of her 11-year-old son, Ace. In the caption, the “With You” singer wrote: “I’m gonna be a braggin’ Mom for a moment and just say that I have the kindest, most handsome 11yr old son on the planet.”

The Open Book author then gushed about their shared love of scratch-off lottery tickets, adding: “Fun fact: we both find lucky pennies randomly every other week and use them to WIN my scratchers together. Mama loves you Ace Knute Johnson- OH SO VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!”

However, one of Jessica’s fans thought that such a sweet post was an indication that she had started drinking again, after previously confessing that she embarked on her sobriety journey in October 2017.

"I haven't wanted or touched alcohol since October 2017 and it has been the best decision I've made for myself and for my family," the mom-of-three responded. "Thank you for your concern, but you have me very misunderstood. Sending love your way," she added.
