Prince William Is Reportedly 'Furious' That Prince Harry Brings Up Their Mother To The Press: 'He's Spitting Mad'

Prince Harry’s feud with the media is quite public, with the 39-year-old constantly bringing up his hatred for the press , even citing it as one of the reasons that he and his wife, Meghan Markle, split from the royal family and blaming his mother’s death on aggressive paparazzi. Prince Harry Talks About Princess Diana with the Press

Earlier this year, Prince Harry starred in Tabloids on Trial , a documentary about the two-decade-long phone hacking scandal in the UK. In 2023, Prince Harry won a legal battle against Mirror Group Newspapers, proving not only that the company engaged in "widespread and habitual" phone hacking , but also that executives were actively covering it up. "I'm trying to get justice for everybody," Harry said in the documentary.

And one of those people, it seems, is his mother, Princess Diana. "There's evidence that [my mother] was being hacked in the mid-1990s," he explained to Rebecca Barry, ITV journalist, in the documentary. "Probably one of the first people to be hacked."

Though his other died in a car accident as a result of the driver of her car being under the influence of alcohol and drugs, Harry largely blames the media . "Even if the man had been drinking," he said in an interview marking the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana's death in 2017, "He wouldn't have had any problem driving through such a short tunnel. Unless paparazzi were following him and dazzled him."

While Prince Harry seems to have no problem speaking about the details of his mother's death on international television, his older brother , Prince William, has taken issue with it. According to an insider speaking to New Idea, an Australian magazine, "William is spitting mad that Harry would reference this again. He's so fed up with [the Sussexes cashing in on Diana's death."

There has been tension between the once-close brothers ever since Prince Harry married American actress Meghan Markle, with the tension only building since the pair stepped down from their royal duties and moved halfway across the world to California. "Harry just won't move on and it appears that since marrying Meghan," the insider continued, "the obsession with his mother has only intensified. William's getting to the point where he's washing his hands of Harry for good."
