'Metal Wire' Found In Frozen Chicken Nuggets

The recall was initiated after a foreign material was identified in select numbers of frozen chicken packages. "We determined the material to be a very thin strand of metal wire that was inadvertently introduced into the manufacturing process," said Jeff Shaw, senior vice president of food safety and quality for Perdue. "Out of an abundance of caution, we decided to voluntarily recall all of these packages of products."

So far, there have been no reports of illness or injuries associated with the recalled products, but Perdue Farms encourages consumers to dispose of the product just to be safe.
