Prince William's Friend Reportedly Says He Doesn't Want Prince Harry To Attend His Future Coronation

Prince Harry may have only made a very brief appearance at his father King Charles’ coronation last year; but if we are to believe recent reports, he may not appear at all at his older brother’s coronation when the time eventually comes.

According to a Sunday Times article published ahead of Prince Harry’s 40th birthday next month, Prince Harry potentially not attending Prince William ‘s future coronation is the current wish of the future monarch, as his friend reportedly revealed that he doesn’t want his younger brother there.

This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise at the moment, as Prince Harry has had a strained relationship with his family following the release of his bombshell memoir, Spare , in January 2023, which spilled an abundance of royal family secrets. But will the brothers resolve their feud by the time Prince William takes the throne? Only time will tell!

Prince William Is Reportedly Not Thinking Of Prince Harry At The Moment

The Sunday Times article went into more detail about the Prince of Wales' current wishes for his future coronation, with the friend explaining that he wants his crowning to "look and feel different" to his father and grandmother's. We already know that he wants to reshape and slim down the monarchy when he takes the throne, so this doesn't come as too much of a surprise.

According to one of Prince William's friends, his younger brother isn't even on his radar at the moment, with the Prince of Wales reportedly only thinking about his wife and father amid their respective cancer battles, as well as his three children.

"This year, his focus has very much been on his wife, his children, and his father. His brother isn't really something that's discussed," a friend of Prince William's reportedly told the pub.

The conversation then turned to Prince William's future coronation and how Prince Harry may not even receive an invitation from his brother. "They are estranged, which is dreadfully sad," the friend continued.

According to Prince William's friend, the brothers haven't spoken in two years. This is something Prince Harry touched on in Spare, as he wrote that the last time he and his brother spoke was at their grandmother Queen Elizabeth II's funeral. But even then, they "barely exchanged a word."

Both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did reportedly try to get in touch when Kate Middleton revealed her cancer diagnosis in March, but royal correspondent Roya Nikkhah said at the time: "That contact was unreciprocated."

Another insider suggested to the Sunday Times that any hopes that the brothers would have patched things up by the time Prince William takes the throne have been dashed based on how things currently stand between them.

"I always said the brothers would be there for each other at the end of the day, and that's been proven wrong so far," the insider said.

Many royal authors – as well as Prince Harry in his memoir Spare – have explained how the brothers' feud has been going on for far longer than we thought. There has always been a rivalry between them, according to royal insiders, and their current feud is seemingly showing no signs of ending.
