Meghan Markle recently adorned the same gold, shimmering butterfly earrings that her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana , memorably wore in 1986. During the second day of her four-day visit to Colombia with her husband , Prince Harry , the Duchess of Sussex, 43, chose to wear the gold stud earrings. The Suits alum, in a touching tribute, showcased these sentimental pieces at Colegio La Giralda school in Bogotá’s Santa Fe neighborhood.

The mom of two ( who shares son Archie , 5, and daughter Lilibet , 3, with Harry, 39) connected with a kindergarten class in Spanish, toured the facilities, and took part in an art activity. “Because we are in your country my husband and I can feel this embrace from Colombia—it’s incredible,” Markle said. “The culture, the history—all of it was a dream— this trip was a dream. I can feel this community and this is the feeling that is the best thing right now.”

Later in the day, she took on the role of translator for Harry, facilitating conversations with attendees at the Petronio Alvarez Pacific Music Festival.
