Beyoncé Says Raising Her 3 Kids ‘Isn’t Easy’ And Requires A Lot Of ‘Prayer And Patience’ In New Rare Interview

Beyoncé recently got candid about motherhood and raising her three children (12-year-old Blue Ivy and 7-year-old twins Rumi and Sir ), with her husband , Jay-Z. In a rare chat with GQ , the Grammy winner, 43, noted that she finds parenting to be “grounding and fulfilling,” but she stressed that it isn’t always a breeze, of course.

Queen Bey talked about the delicate act of juggling her fam and her impressive career. Even with the success of her chart-topping record Cowboy Carter, her international Renaissance Tour and the launch of both her Cécred hair care line and SirDavis whiskey label, she stressed that her kids remain her top priority. The “Texas Hold ‘Em” hitmaker also noted that she meticulously arranges her professional commitments to fit around her children’s schedules.

The "16 Carriages" singer told the outlet: "Raising three kids isn't easy. The older they get, the more they become their own individuals with unique needs, hobbies, and social lives." She sweetly added that her twins "are God-sent." Beyoncé also shared that "parenting constantly teaches you about yourself." It takes "a lot of prayer and patience," she continued, noting that she "loves" it.

Although her schedule is hectic, the "Love on Top" artist revealed that Blue Ivy, Rumi and Sir accompany her "everywhere" — whether that be to her office, a recording studio or choreography and dance rehearsals.

"My kids come with me everywhere I go. They come to my office after school, and they are in the studio with me," she said. The superstar added: "They are in dance rehearsals. It’s natural that they would learn my choreography."

Although Beyoncé has allowed her eldest daughter to take the stage multiple times in recent months , her foremost concern remains providing Blue Ivy and her siblings with a sense of normalcy.

"One thing I've worked extremely hard on is making sure my kids can have as much normalcy and privacy as possible, ensuring my personal life isn't turned into a brand," she also noted.

The former Destiny's Child member continued: "I have made an extreme effort to stay true to my boundaries and protect myself and my family. No amount of money is worth my peace."

Beyoncé shared that she initially didn't want her daughter Blue Ivy to perform in front of large audiences at her young age, but ultimately allowed her to after witnessing her talent and dedication to her artistry.

"She's a natural, but I did not want Blue onstage," Beyoncé said. She continued: "Blue wanted it for herself. She took it seriously and she earned it. And most importantly, she had fun! We all watched her grow more and more every night before our eyes."

The "Irreplaceable" crooner and "99 Problems" rapper, 54, memorably tied the knot in 2008 . Beyoncé and Jay-Z, as fans know, famously welcomed Blue Ivy in 2012 and twins Rumi and Sir in 2017.
