Mac And Cheese Is Being Pulled From Target Shelves In 5 States Over Concerns It May Be 'Spoiled'

Mac & Cheese from the brand Reser’s has been recalled after at least one shipment of the products were spoiled due to “temperature abuse.” The recall, which was initiated voluntarily by Reser’s Fine Foods, is part of a larger recall from the brand of its deli salads and refrigerated products. Reser's Mac & Cheese Recall

Two different types of mac & cheese from the brand were recalled:

• Reser's American Classics Macaroni and Cheese
  • Use By Date: September 14 & September 16
• Reser's American Classics Macaroni and Cheese White Cheddar
  • Use By Date: September 11

The products were sold in numerous different stores, but most notably at Target ,  locations across five different states: California, Illinois, Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Reser's products are also sold at Stop & Shop, Safeway, and Walmart, but these retail locations were reportedly not affected by the recall.

High Temperatures 'Spoil' The Mac & Cheese

The recall was issued by Reser's Fine Foods over concerns that the mac & cheese had spoiled due to " temperature abuse ." A spokesperson for Reser's Fine Foods spoke to FOX Business, and explained that the issue "was isolated to one truck load of product delivered to one distributor location."

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) classified the recall as Class II, which refers to "a situation in which use of, or exposure to, a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote."

If you have purchased the recalled product, dispose of it immediately and do not consume it. If you have consumed the recalled product, monitor yourself and your family for adverse symptoms , including nausea or vomiting.
