The best kinds of dinners are ones that come together in a snap but taste like you’ve been working on them all day. And Ina Garten has one such dinner recipe that you’ll want to make for your family over and over again. It’s Scallops Provencal, a dish from the South of France, and it looks and tastes so fancy but actually takes just about 15 minutes to make.

The key to nailing this dish is fresh bay or sea scallops, which you can pick up at your local grocery store or seafood market. Garten likes to salt and pepper them as you would with any protein, but then she gives them a dusting of flour, which will help thicken the sauce and give the scallops a nice crispy coating.

Melt butter in a skillet and add your scallops in one layer when the pan gets nice and hot and the butter is bubbling. “We’re going to cook them on medium heat for about two minutes,” Garten says in a segment from her show posted to the Food Network Instagram page. Once those two minutes are up, flip your scallops and cook them for another two minutes.

Once your scallops are done browning up on the other side, add more butter to the pan alongside chopped shallots, garlic, and parsley, and sautee everything together. Remove the brown bits from the bottom with the pan (deglaze) with a splash of white wine.

“And dinner’s ready!” Garten says. How easy was that?

Garten likes to serve her scallops with a side of rice, which soaks up that luscious sauce. In the clip, Jeffrey calls them “fantastic,” and just by looking at them, we have to agree!

“So simple, buttery, and delicious! Love scallops,” one person commented on the Food Network post. Another added, “Jeffrey is a very lucky man.” But with a recipe this simple, you can be just as lucky as Jeffrey is any night of the week.
