Jessica Simpson & Ashlee Simpson Ross Might Not See Eye to Eye on Their Career Comeback Timing

As siblings in the entertainment industry , Jessica Simpson and Ashlee Simpson Ross have supported each other along the way. They’ve both explored acting and music careers over the years, but the timing of their career comeback might be interfering with their relationship. Both of them are ready to share new music with their fans, but they don’t want to be stepping on each other’s toes.

Coincidentally, the sisters each took a 16-year hiatus from their recording careers and have shared their excitement about getting back into the studio. However, it doesn’t sound like the siblings discussed their plans with each other. “Jessica loves Ashlee, but it rubs her the wrong way that her own sister is planning her comeback at the same time and will likely take some shine off her return,” a source told Life & Style . Apparently, Ashlee was aware of Jessica’s comeback, and that might have inspired the “Lala” singer to also pursue her music again.

“Ashlee knows Jessica has been working on a new album, and it got Ashlee to thinking maybe she should try to gain a foothold in the music business again as well,” they added. The sisters seem to be on two different tracks for their return, though. Jessica recently moved to Nashville, so her music might be influenced by the country music history of the area. Ashlee recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of her Autobiography album with a buzz-worthy performance at a club in West Hollywood.

Jessica might be having some doubts about the strength of her music success because the insider pointed out that she’s concerned about “falling flat on her face” while “Ashlee is going to soar.” Even though it’s an “awkward situation,” Ashlee gushed about her big sis in February on the Broad Ideas with Rachel Bilson & Olivia Allen podcast. “At times there were moments, maybe it was on tour, I was like, (waves her hands) “Hey, look at me over here,” but our relationship, as a whole, has always been very close,’ she explained.

On the flip side, Jessica also had nothing but praise for Ashlee after her recent performance and shared a clip on her Instagram page . “I woke up this mornin’ cryin’ like a fan girl nerd sister watchin’ this from last night!!! You are a f—kin’ rockstar Ash!” Jessica wrote. “You looked, sounded, and moved like you never missed a day on stage. It was simply EPIC! What a beautiful moment with all of your back up singers (the entire crowd)…CHILLS…You were born for this! Make a record asap!” If that wasn’t enough, she threw out a great idea, to sum up how she feels, “Let’s tour together and take the kids! I am so proud to be your sister!!! You are INCREDIBLE!”
