Lindsay Lohan Takes Break From 'Freaky Friday' Filming for a Beachside Fashion Moment with Son Luai

If you’re anything like us, you’re teeming with excitement over a Freaky Friday sequel actually happening — not only with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis , but also the beloved “… Baby One More Time” crooner, Chad Michael Murray . Photos from the production set have been teasing us with a behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming movie, but they aren’t the only snaps we’re looking at with heart eyes. Lohan took a break from filming in Los Angeles to hit the beach with her 1-year-old son , and it was a bonafide fashion moment for baby Luai.

The Disney alum wore a relaxed bohemian look while traversing Laguna Beach on a gorgeous sunny day, Luai in her arms. Lohan donned loose joggers with red and purple color blocking at the hips and black and white zig-zagging stripes down the legs. She chose a fitted white halter top with a square neckline and a black polka dot pattern, and she finished the look with black Birkenstock sandals, a straw hat, and sunglasses.

Lohan dressed Little Luai in an adorable matching shorts and shirt set with a tan, black, and white plaid pattern. The duo paused on the beach to wave at fans, with Luai copying his mama by raising his arm high in the air to wave at well-wishers — you can see the sweet photos HERE .

The Parent Trap icon welcomed her first son in July 2023 with her husband Bader Shammas, and motherhood is an aspect of her life that will carry over in the Freaky Friday sequel. During a June 2024 appearance on Good Morning America , Lohan said, “Well, I can’t say much, but I am taking guitar lessons, and I do have a daughter in the movie.” She teased, “It’s going to be a really freaky Friday. Much freakier than you would expect.”

Lohan also spoke about the joy of working with Curtis and Murray again. “We all have so much fun. It’s so great to have that… you always want to have a good time,” she said. “It’s just a lot of love, a lot of fun, a lot of laughs. It’s a great experience.”

In June 2023, the Mean Girls star revealed her on-screen mom had given her some advice for balancing motherhood and work. Lohan told Allure , “I spoke to Jamie Lee Curtis recently, and she was like, ‘You just bring the baby with you and everything will be fine.'” It looks like she’s taking the advice to heart, and based on Lohan’s beaming smile, we’d say everything is just fine indeed.
