This Former US President's Surprising Gift to Hoda Kotb & Her Daughters Brought Her to Tears

Happy belated birthday to Hoda Kotb ; who celebrated turning 60 years old Aug 9. A few days after the big birthday, Kotb and her co-host Jenna Bush Hager were on air, when Hager gave Kotb a big gift from George W. Bush.

On the Today Show , Hager presented Kotb with a gift from her father: a painting he made on Kotb’s favorite picture with daughters Hope and Haley .

The pair were already in tears over the sweet celebration they had on air, including appearances from Sandra Bullock and Kotb’s BFFs.

Hager handed the gift over to her, saying, “I had my dad, who has started painting, paint your favorite photo.” It was a truly beautiful photo of Kotb walking with her daughters, and it was signed “43,” which is a node from Bush, the 43rd president of the United States.

Isn’t that so precious? And who knew Bush painted ?! Well, actually a lot of people. Bush has been painting on and off throughout his life, focusing mainly on portraits. He has made portraits for immigrants, veterans, and more, per the Bush Center . And now Kotb has a very sweet memento from him!

For those who don’t know, back in 2017, the Hoda author revealed that she and now-ex Joel Schiffman adopted a daughter named Haley, now 7. They later adopted another baby girl named Hope, now 4.

In a previous chat on the Today Show, Kotb talked about the wonderful parts of being an older mom . She said, “I see all the good parts about being an older mom. Like, I’m in my own skin, I know who I am, I’ve got much more patience and love and all that stuff.”
