Kate Middleton's Personality Behind the Scenes Is Reportedly Much Different Than Her Public Persona

Kate Middleton’s three-minute video that was released on Monday, Sept. 9 still has people talking. The outside-the-box PR strategy was so unexpected by royal fans — PDA with Kate and Prince William — that everyone has a hot take on the clip.

While the casual, breezy, and Taylor Swift take on their personal lives might feel awkward for some people, one pal close to the Princess of Wales is here to tell everyone, “This is her,” per The Telegraph . In public, Kate might be reserved, conservatively dressed, and playing the part of a royal, but her core essence behind the scenes is apparently much more casual. It’s like Kate was trying to tell everyone that she’s tired of hiding her authentic self.

The video was not only an update on her health battle, but this was reportedly a “creative outlet” for her and a way to “ control the narrative ” that has vastly been shaped by the media. “This is a personal message from her,” another insider added while noting that she’s been empowered to speak her mind more after her cancer battle. “They wanted to leave nothing to chance this time,” NBC News royal contributor Emily Nash told the media outlet. “I think that with the difficulties of the past year, William and Kate have understood that they do need to control the narrative to a degree.”

Kate and William are clearly going in their own direction, likely paving the way for their future reign, but that doesn’t mean everyone loves their video —including King Charles III. “All that lying round, hugging and kissing – they’re not soppy teenagers,” a source told the Daily Mail . “ It felt manipulative . He’s still the king and he reportedly thought there were better ways to get the message across.

“All the time, effort, and expense put into making the video could have been much better spent elsewhere. Why not visit other women being treated for cancer? That’s what Diana would have done,” they added. A second insider dared to call the video “distinctly un-regal.” Well, royalists might not like Kate 2.0 because it seems she is determined to usher in more of her private personality into the public sector. Kate doesn’t want to be pushed around by the palace communications team any longer.

LolAs much as everyone loves to hate Meghan, Kate was certainly taking notes and is now implementing them into action. Her & William were trying to hold up the stoic royal attitude but have realized Harry & Meghan were on to something. They’re aware of the damage the “spares” experience and are taking measures to avoid it with their own children. That was never done in the royal family before. Seems to me they owe H&M a thank you!
