Florence Pugh has a full schedule right now. She’s recently starred in We Live in Time , Dune: Part Two , and Oppenheimer , and she’s working on upcoming projects Thunderbolts , East of Eden , and The Pack. But when she thinks about her future, there is one nonnegotiable: having kids! The 28-year-old just revealed the sweetest reason why she “always” thought about starting a family, and it’ll make your heart melt.

In a cover story with British Vogue, Pugh revealed, “I want to go and find love and I want to have babies.” This is not just some sort of yeah-I’ll-get-married-and-have-kids general statement. It’s one of Pugh’s deepest desires and has been for a while.

“Oh, I’ve always been thinking about starting a family,” the Don’t Worry Darling star continued. “I’ve wanted to have kids since I was a child myself. I love the idea of a big family.”

The main reason? Because she grew up with many siblings: Arabella, 38, Toby, 32, and Rafaela, 21, who are all the children of restaurateur Clinton Pugh and dancer Deborah Mackin. “I come from a big family. I love kids,” she continued. “I love hanging out with kids. If ever there’s a dinner party, I go straight to the kids to chat to them. So much easier. I love the honesty. I love how bored they can get. I’ve never stopped knowing that I want to have kids. It’s just figuring out when.”

In 2023, Pugh revealed how much her relationship with her siblings impacted her growing up. “My siblings are just as big in my life as my parents,” the Little Women star previously told Vogue. “The best sign of a good person is the ability to laugh at yourself. And siblings were crucial for that. With the job that I do, it’s so important to have people who are gonna say, ‘Hey, I know you didn’t mean it, but you were being a bit of a muppet.’” As someone who also came from a big family (my parents had six kids!), I can completely relate.

In her new interview with British Vogue , Pugh revealed that she is in a relationship, but she is keeping his details private. “OK, so something that I resonate with is that I believe that if magic is real, then it’s falling in love. And I am someone that loves falling in love,” she admitted. “I love looking after people. I love caring for people. I love the feeling of someone being there. I love knowing that someone is thinking about me and someone cares for me in the same way that I’m thinking about caring for them.”

“I think in this portion of my life, I’m trying to make sure that I’m making all the right decisions so that I can have the thing that I want… which is safety, family, a home and security,” she added.

Whenever it happens for her, we can already tell Pugh is going to be a fantastic mom!
