Tyra Banks Has Allegedly ‘Shut Down’ This Part of Herself After Becoming a Mom, Insiders Allege

Tyra Banks has been anywhere and everywhere since the 1990s, from her time on the controversial show America’s Next Top Model to hosting Dancing with the Stars . However, while fans know her as a harder, slightly mean host, she’s become the opposite after becoming a mother to her son York.

A pal claimed to Life and Style Magazine that Banks’ personality completely changed after becoming a mom.

“For fans of her TV work, Tyra can appear to have a split personality — one that she flaunted on America’s Next Top Model and later on Dancing With the Stars , where it sometimes looked like she relished delivering bad news or lording over contestants with whatever authority she has,” the pal said. “But in real life, motherhood has totally changed Tyra.”

They added, “She has learned to shut down that hard edge she had as a TV host and become a real human being around her family and close friends. That’s been a huge step for her, and she’s way better off for it. It’s a little late in life to discover true humility — even Tyra recognizes that — [but] motherhood has finally made her into a truly self-aware person.”

So it seems for Banks, everything may have changed.

For those who don’t know, Banks and Norwegian photographer Erik Asla welcomed a son named York Banks Asla, born via gestational surrogacy in Jan 2016.

Now, Banks tries to keep her son away from the public eye as much as she can. In fact, back in 2017, she talked about the real reason why she posted York’s “smizing” picture to her Instagram via People .

“It wasn’t so much that I was itching for the world to see him,” she said. “After they get the shot, I text his dad and I’m like, ‘I’ve got to put this picture out before the paparazzi. I don’t want them to make money off our child and have the first picture.’ I wanted to beat them to the punch. So, I post the damn picture.”
