Martha Stewart's Favorite Traditions with Her Grandkids Make Us Wish She Was Our Grandma Too

Martha Stewart ‘s modeling campaign for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition and her close friendship with Snoop Dogg are two of many things that make her incredibly cool, but her recent revelations about things she likes to do with her grandkids have us even more impressed — and a bit bummed we didn’t win the lottery with this icon as our grandma!

During an exclusive interview with People , Stewart opened up about how she spends quality time with her daughter Alexis ‘ two kids, Jude, 13, and Truman, 12.

“It’s a phenomenal thing,” the home and entertainment maven said of their family traditions — one of which is attending concerts with Jude. “Billie Eilish is coming up and then there’s Jingle Ball and all of those concerts which I attend very religiously with my granddaughter,” Stewart shared. We admire the way she embraces the newer generation and modern entertainment!

The trio also loves trying global cuisines at home and while traveling. “We eat at some very good restaurants,” Stewart said. “The children are quite experienced foodies. Their mother’s a fabulous cook and they love going out to eat, especially Japanese food and other really good ethnic foods.” She added, “They’ve been to all the continents. They’re traveling as much as they can possibly travel and they love it.” Stewart sweetly added, “That I can help them do that is a joy.”

While she and Jude bond over music, Stewart revealed she embraces her sporty side when spending time with Truman. “The boy, he’s a sports aficionado , so we had to go see the Celtics, and we had to go see the Knicks. We always go to the Super Bowl,” she shared. “He’s big time into American football and also a huge soccer player himself. He went to Amsterdam and Berlin to play soccer this summer. He’s 12 and traveling all over the world with soccer.” Proud grandma alert! We love the way she’s gushing about the kids; it’s so sweet.

And, as a home, lifestyle, and entertainment queen, Stewart’s revelation that she hosts Jude and a group of friends every year for a celebration of fall is so on brand — and we’re so jealous.

“I have a lot of apple trees and we go picking apples,” Stewart shared. “My granddaughter brings her school friends, 13-year-olds, and they’ve made a kind of annual tradition of it. They pick apples, bushels of them, and they make cider and take home great big jars of cider.” The parents of those kids may be the real winners here — can you imagine your kid bringing home a jar of homemade apple cider from THE Martha Stewart’s orchard??

The fall fun doesn’t stop there though. Stewart continued, “ Then they sleep overnight. The next day we’ll go pumpkin picking. It’s a real autumnal weekend for the girls. I like making traditions like that,” she said.

We’ve never been more inspired to host our own autumnal weekend for the girls — and we love that Jude and Truman get to experience such incredible activities with the queen of all things lifestyle herself. There are a lot of iconic celebrity grandparents , but Martha Stewart is No. 1 in our hearts.
