Gwen Stefani's New Single Seems to Be Comparing Ex Gavin Rossdale With 'Real Thing' Blake Shelton

Gwen Stefani is releasing her fifth studio album, Bouquet , on Nov. 15, but it’s the first released single from her new music that has everyone talking. “Somebody Else’s” very clearly talked about an ex and her reaction to the relationship being over . If any fan wants to read between the lines, it sure feels like a slam against her ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale.

“I don’t know what a heart like mine / Was doin’ in a love like that, ah / Doin’ in a love so bad,” she sang on the track. “I don’t know what a woman like me / Was doin’ with a man like you, ooh / But now I got a love so true.” But Stefani wasn’t done, the lyrics continue to slam an ex who did her wrong.

“Now that I found the real thing / You don’t compare / And I don’t care / You’re somebody else’s / And it doesn’t even break my heart,” she continued. “You’re somebody else’s / And I pray for them whoever they are / Everyday with you is rock bottom / Leavin’ you saved me, my God / Look at me blossom / You’re somebody else’s problem.”

At certain points in the song, the 55-year-old singer described her former partner as “semi-psychotic” and “narcissistic” because they “gaslit” her. “If I could go back in time / I would erase you, ooh,” and “Now that you’re dead to me / I feel so alive,” she crooned.
