Kate Middleton Reportedly Uses This 4-Word Phrase for Prince Louis' Mischievous Moments

It’s no secret that Prince Louis loves to be a bit mischievous at royal events. It’s an understandable reaction because the public outings can be long for a six-year-old’s attention span. That’s when Kate Middleton’s sharp parenting skills come into play. She reportedly has a four-word phrase that’s age-appropriate for Louis to understand.
Royal fans will remember Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee in June 2022 when Louis attended the concert with his grandparents, parents and siblings. He was having a hard time sitting down for such a long period of time. “When Prince Louis misbehaved at the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee for example, by sticking his tongue out at his mother, Kate’s reaction was praised by a team of expert commentators,” wrote author Tom Quinn in his book, Gilded Youth, An Intimate History of Growing Up in the Royal Family , per Cambridge News.
That’s when the Princess of Wales reportedly broke out her secret weapon with this phrase: “Let’s take a break.” It’s her motherly way of letting Louis know that it’s he’s stretching his boundaries too far — she’s firm, yet gentle at the same time. “Louis is an energetic child and clearly was unable to contain his excitement at being at a public event,” a royal insider told OK! Magazine after Trooping the Colour in June. “Kate doesn’t worry about their behavior too much. She loves to see them being kids.”
Kate also knows that Prince Louis listens to his “doting” big sis, Princess Charlotte. “She keeps Louis in line when needed,” the source added. “She’s very proper about these things.” We’re sure that Charlotte’s help came in handy during Kate’s cancer journey, especially since Louis looks up to his siblings. It’s not easy being a royal child when the whole world is watching your every move, but the Princess of Wales revealed how she wove her own family traditions into her role as a mother.
“I had an amazing Granny who devoted a lot of time to us—playing with us, doing arts and crafts, and going to the greenhouse to do gardening, and cooking with us—and I try and incorporate a lot of the experiences that she gave us at the time into the experiences that I give my children now,” she shared on the Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast in 2020.
Kate is doing a great job with all three kids, who deserve to have a balance between normalcy and royal duties.
