Mathews Realty open house slated March 12

Mathews Realty is hosting an Open House on March 12 and everyone is invited to stop by and visit. Hours will be held 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Mathews Realty located at 616 Tenaha Street.

Mathews Realty has been representing buyers and sellers throughout the Shelby County area for many years.

The business has successfully grown over the years with the addition of many new team members. The Mathews Realty team members are proud East Texans deeply invested in the success of their clients and prosperity of the community. They have an extensive knowledge and understanding of East Texas, specializing in commercial, residential and poultry farms.

Make sure to plan on joining the staff at Mathews Realty March 12 for refreshments and fellowship. They look forward to seeing you.

Grill Fest sign up is open

There is still time to register a cook team for the annual Grill Fest sponsored by Farmers State Bank. Cooking starts Friday, March 15 and judging takes place Saturday, March 16 at the Rodeo Arena on Highway 7 East.

Sign up for the “Open” margarita and Bloody Mary beverage and beans competition is also open. A 42 Tournament and Washer Pitching Tournament also starts at 6 p.m. Friday. Both tournaments are sponsored by Shelby Savings Bank.

Plus, Friday night is Karaoke Night from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. sponsored by Brock’s Rocks.

Coloring book signing at

u Riley Jo’s Sip, Cake & Paint at 1135 Hurst Street, Suite 150, in the Ivan Smith shopping center is hosting a Coloring Book Signing Friday, March 1 at 5 p.m.

Riley Jo Barnes opened “Riley Jo’s” in September of 2023 offering a studio where the community can come together to paint and make memories.

Everyone is encouraged to attend and support Riley Jo’s first coloring book. Refreshments will be served and autographed books will be available for $12.50.

Riley Jo’s is a great place to rent for private birthday parties, kids paint parties, girls night out parties etc.

Ribbon Cutting

Join Nancy and Jerry Lawhorn, owners of Family Traditions Southern Eatery & Catering and the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors at a Relocation Ribbon Cutting Friday, March 1 at 2:00 p.m.

Family Traditions new location is 411 Hurst Street in Center. The public is invited to attend and join the celebration.

Nancy and Jerry serve Southern food, home cooked and hand prepared, six days a week and every other Sunday. Daily lunch specials are offered along with an extensive selection of hamburgers, appetizers, sandwiches, salads, and homemade desserts.

Breakfast is served all day. For more than five years, the Lawhorn’s have been serving southern comfort food and making everyone feel right at home.
