Service dog found after going missing from Clarksdale area
CLARKSDALE, Miss. (WMC) - CoreCivic has found a canine that went missing from the Clarksdale area. Dex was assigned to the Tallahatchie County Correctional Facility in Clarksdale, Mississippi, but escaped from his residential enclosure near Catalpa Street. Dex is now safe and CoreCivic is thankful to have him back.

Mississippi city adds Sunday bus service in response to university’s record number of freshman
The largest freshman class in Ole Miss history has prompted officials to begin a Sunday bus route around the city of Oxford. The addition of the Sunday routes was requested by the University of Mississippi which is expected to see its largest freshman arrive in Oxford for the fall semester.

Dispute at Jackson lounge moves to park, ends in shooting
JACKSON, Miss. — Jackson police are investigating an early morning shooting. Police said the incident stemmed from a Thursday night confrontation between a group of people at the Kemistry Lounge downtown. Brandon Dorsey named Assistant Band Director and Percussion Instructor at VHS
Vicksburg native Brandon Dorsey has been named the Assistant Band Director and Percussion Instructor at Vicksburg High School. Dorsey, who graduated from VHS in 2011, joined the band in the seventh grade where he played the snare drum. He went on to audition for the VHS drum line as a freshman in 2007 and eventually became a drum captain in 2010.
