BILLINGS, Mont. – Billings Public Schools trustees and administrators invite the community to a High School Solutions Committee meeting, which will include a tour of Daylis Stadium. City of Bozeman to host annual firework show for Fourth
The City of Bozeman is hosting its annual Fourth of July fireworks show from the Gallatin County Fairgrounds. The show will begin at 10 p.m. and run approximately a half hour. The fireworks show is made possible by a partnership formed in 2023 between Bozeman Fire and local business sponsors following the city-wide ban on personal fireworks.
Beach Boys set to perform next month at Kalispell's Northwest Montana Fair & Rodeo
KALISPELL, Mont. - The Northwest Montana Fair announced Tuesday that the famous Beach Boys will perform at the fair on August 13. "The Beach Boys are one of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful bands of all time, with over 100 million records sold worldwide. Kids rule too in Best of Whitefish
Eight-year-old Poppy George stood out amongst older folks, placing second in the Best of Whitefish Best Athlete category. George said her mantra is, “I believe in myself. I believe in my team. I believe in God.” George has been a martial arts student at SBG Gym for three years and has a gray/black belt. She also plays soccer with Glacier Surf and her soccer team brought home the gold in their latest home competition, the 3 Blind Refs tournament at the KidSport Complex in Kalispell. The annual tournament is the largest in Montana with over 180 teams coming in from Montana, Idaho, Washington and Canada. Aided by her teammates’ awesome performances, George helped her team score two goals for the win. Among George’s accolades is Mutton Busting Champion, as she competed at the Montana Longhorn Company's Mutton Busting Championship. Laurel's newest school trustee is former teacher and life-long Laurel resident
Laurel Public Schools has selected a new trustee to finish the term vacated by Dan Fettig. Kayla Gray, a former Spanish teacher at Laurel High School, will finish the final year of Fettig's term. He resigned for personal reasons. Superintendent Matt Torix said Fettig was a valuable asset to the Laurel School Board and will be missed.
Veterans retreat expands near Thompson Falls
On a peaceful mountain retreat in Thompson Falls, close to 100 people gathered recently to celebrate the acquisition of a new 60-acre facility for a veterans group called, Patrol Base Abbate Return to Base.Located on Tanager Road, this off-grid mountain base above the Clark Fork River exists as a place for veterans from all branches to rest, reconnect with other fellow military personnel, and rediscover the meaning of service to themselves, families and communities. The Glacier Twins A team picked up a doubleheader sweep over Libby at home on Tuesday, June 25, winning the first game 19-3 and then following that up with a 15-2 win.In the first matchup, Glacier scored 12 runs in the first inning, and the route was on.
