CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – A Shelby woman struck a big win with a $1 million prize on a $10 scratch-off ticket, the North Carolina Lottery announced Friday.

Shelby resident Tyeshia Hopper bought the $10 50X The Cash scratch-off at the Eastside Kwik Stop on Lineberger Street.

Hopper claimed her winnings Thursday and took home $429,003 after taxes.

The state has provided more than $27 million in funding for two new school auditoriums in Cleveland County. The scratch-off game debuted in February and featured six top prizes with just one of those prizes remaining.
