The Coalshaft South parking lot and boat ramp at Lake Shelbyville will be closed starting the evening of Monday, September 2, 2024, through approximately 5p.m. Thursday, September 5, 2024, for a fish habitat placement project. CHBC Loses Three Set Battle to Dieterich in NTC Opener
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City lost a close three set battle on the road at Dieterich on Thursday 24-26, 25-17, 22-25 in their National Trail Conference opener. The Lady Bobcats are now 1-1 to start the season and start off NTC play at 0-1. CHBC will go back to non-conference action on Tuesday when they will be back at home to take on Okaw Valley.

Falcons Host Altamont, Selmaville & Jasper For Tournament Play Saturday

SEB Beats Vandalia in Two Set Match
St. Elmo-Brownstown won their third match in a row, while Vandalia fell in their season opener as the Eagles topped the Vandals in two sets 25-17, 25-18 on Thursday night. St. Elmo-Brownstown is off to a 3-0 start to the season with the win and will have a week off before returning to action on Thursday, September 5 at South Central. Altamont Falls on the Road at Carlyle
The Altamont Lady Indians came up short in their first road match of the season, falling at Carlyle 19-25, 10-25. The loss puts Altamont at 1-1 to start the season and after the Labor Day weekend, they will be back at home on Tuesday as they host Newton in the first of what will be two weekday games followed by their own Altamont Invitational Tournament next Saturday.

Zion Braves fell just short of the Warrensburg-Latham/Maroa-Forsyth Cardinals by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. Junior Devan Swisher tied for third individually (47) and sophomore Garrett Loschen was fifth (48) on Wednesday (Aug. 28), for the St. Joseph-Ogden golf team, which placed second in a three-school meet at Danville Country Club. Salt Fork (194) won team honors, followed by SJ-O (202) and Schlarman Academy (243).
