    19-year-old passenger killed, driver critically injured in Dickinson County crash

    DICKINSON COUNTY, Iowa (KCAU) — The Iowa State Patrol has reported that one person died and another was injured in a single-vehicle crash in Dickinson County on Saturday.

    According to a crash report , Teagan Vos, 18, of Sheldon, was driving a 2019 Kia Stinger north on 130th Avenue with Edith Lupercio-Lopez, 19, of Sioux Center as the sole passenger.

    The report states that they failed to negotiate a curve, crossed the center line, and went into the northwest ditch. Unable to maintain control of the vehicle, it overturned and crossed 131st Avenue before coming to a stop in the north ditch.

    Vos sustained critical injuries and was taken to a local hospital, but Lupercio-Lopez did not survive.

    The report noted that Vos was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, but Lupercio-Lopez was not. No further details were available.
