Missouri woman arrested on suspected drug distribution in Osage County
A Missouri woman was arrested on suspected drug distribution charges in Osage County on Monday. Sheriff Chris Wells says the arrest of 37-year-old Kyra Merriman of Kansas City developed after an alleged traffic infraction. An Osage County K-9 unit stopped Merriman at US Highway 75 and 189th Road, about five miles north of Lyndon, and allegedly found illegal narcotics.
Carthage man sentenced for role in 2020 Lamar murder
JASPER COUNTY, Mo. — A Carthage man is sentenced for his role in a 2020 murder in Lamar. Tuesday morning, Judge Dean Dankelson sentenced 30-year-old Lane Bronson to 20 years in prison. He will serve this sentence at the same time he is in federal custody for his involvement in the kidnapping and murder of Jolene Campbell.

Columbia woman receives probation for nailing man in basement
A Columbia woman who nailed a man shut in a basement pleads down to one of the three charges filed against her. Alexis Fenton had been charged with third-degree domestic assault, armed criminal action, and third-degree kidnapping. She pleaded guilty Monday to the domestic assault charge and was sentenced to five years supervised probation. If Fenton violates her probation, she faces four years in prison.
