Sentencing rescheduled for man who led standoff in 2022
WOODSTOCK -- A Rockingham County man who held a 19-hour standoff with law enforcement in 2022 in Mount Jackson faces sentencing in two weeks. Joshua Ryan Litten appeared in Shenandoah County Circuit Court last week for a sentencing hearing on his convictions for crimes he committed during the Dec. 6-7 standoff.

Shenandoah County Tourism conducts a program called Shenandoah County Tours to inspire county residents to act as tourism ambassadors for visiting friends and family. Each tour includes a behind-the-scenes experience at a local hospitality business, town or attraction, followed by lunch. Tours usually run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and average 15-25 attendees for each one.
Judge to consider motions before sentencing Maurertown woman for financial crimes
A Shenandoah County woman must wait to find out her punishment for federal financial crimes involving her mother, who was reported missing in 2021. Elizabeth Anne Catherine Keegan awaits sentencing on charges of access-device fraud and unlawful use of another person’s identity. Keegan, 60, of Maurertown, pleaded to the two charges in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia in January. Keegan entered the pleas per an agreement reached with federal prosecutors. Keegan remains free on bond. Her sentencing hearing has not yet been scheduled.
