Timberville Man Gets 25 Years For 2022 Standoff In Mount Jackson
WOODSTOCK — A judge sentenced a Rockingham County man on Monday to 25 years in prison for shooting at law enforcement officers during a 2022 standoff. Joshua Ryan Litten appeared in Shenandoah County Circuit Court for sentencing on charges stemming from the more than 18 hour standoff on Dec. 6-7, 2022, in a trailer park in Mount Jackson.
Crash sends DC man to hospital
A Washington, D.C., man remains in a hospital after a vehicle crash on Sunday in Shenandoah County. A 2014 Honda CRV traveling north on Interstate 81 ran off the left side of the highway at the 292 mile marker, overcorrected, ran off the right side of the road and then collided with a guardrail shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday, according to a police news release.
Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office looking for suspects who stole a camper
SHENANDOAH COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s help in identifying two persons suspected of stealing a camper. According to a social media post from the sheriff’s office, it was reported that on July 4th, 2024, at approximately 12:00 am, the pictured individuals were seen removing a camper, tag # 73681AG, from a property in the area of the 3000 block of Old Valley Pike in New Market.
