Salem Quaker City Band to present its final special concert this season
The Salem Quaker City Band will present its third and final special concert this season on Friday at 7 p.m. at the bandshell in Waterworth Memorial Park. Conductor Robert Barnett has chosen the theme “Dance!” that will include a waltz by Shostakovich, a polka by Henry Mancini, a tango by Leroy Anderson, a latin flamingo, and a Glenn Miller medley. Admission is free. Tickets will be sold for a 50/50 drawing and prizes donated by local businesses. Attendees are reminded to bring lawn chairs. Trump shooter looked up Kennedy assassination details, FBI director says
A week before Thomas Mathew Crooks opened fire on former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, he became "very focused" on Trump and the rally, FBI Director Christopher Wray testified before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday. Crooks also searched for information on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963, he said. Wray told Congress in the last few days the FBI has been able to analyze a laptop connected to Crooks. "On July 6, he did a Google search for quote, 'how far away was Oswald from Kennedy?' So that's a search that's obviously significant in terms of his state of mind," Wray said.
Man finds loaded gun on side of road: Report
WEATHERSFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) — Police responded to a Weatherfield home Monday morning after a man reported finding a gun on the side of the road. A man told police that he was driving on Salt Springs Road near Meridian Road when he saw something that looked like a gun lying on the side of the road and pulled over to check it out. The man told police that the gun didn’t have a magazine but was loaded with a 9mm bullet, which he made safe before returning to his home and calling police, reports state.
