Salem Quaker City Band to present its final special concert this season
The Salem Quaker City Band will present its third and final special concert this season on Friday at 7 p.m. at the bandshell in Waterworth Memorial Park. Conductor Robert Barnett has chosen the theme “Dance!” that will include a waltz by Shostakovich, a polka by Henry Mancini, a tango by Leroy Anderson, a latin flamingo, and a Glenn Miller medley. Admission is free. Tickets will be sold for a 50/50 drawing and prizes donated by local businesses. Attendees are reminded to bring lawn chairs. A food vendor will be available to purchase food and soft drinks. Parking is accessible from North Lincoln Avenue off of Sunset Boulevard and by entering Waterworth Memorial Park at Superior Avenue.
