Independence Day celebrations prepare for fireworks across Kentucky and southern Indiana
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — From parades to neighborhood festivals, Independence Day celebrations took place on both sides of the Ohio River on Thursday. Over in Jeffersonville, Indiana the city held its annual 4th of July Parade that went right through downtown. There was no lack of patriotism as both parade participants and spectators were decked out in red, white and blue.

(The Center Square) – Two Kentucky energy providers say they plan to use federal funding to continue studying whether there are sites in the state that could be suitable for nuclear power generation. Kentucky, Indiana Counties on Alert for Severe Thunderstorms Until 7 PM
Louisville, KY – A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for parts of northern and northeastern Kentucky until 7 p.m. today. According to the US National Weather Service Wilmington, OH, the watch encompasses major cities including Louisville, Lexington, and Elizabethtown. Several counties in southern Indiana, such as Clark, Floyd, and Harrison, are also under the watch. The advisory warns of potential tornadoes, isolated hail up to quarter size, and scattered wind gusts reaching up to 70 mph.
