Sherburne County Commissioner Lisa Fobbe has announced she will run for re-election to the County Board.

Fobbe, of Princeton, is seeking her third term. She was first elected to the County Board in 2016 and re-elected in 2020. She represents District 5, which includes Zimmerman, Baldwin Township, most of Livonia Township and that part of the city of Princeton that is in Sherburne County.

“I am excited to announce my candidacy for re-election as Sherburne County commissioner,” Fobbe said in a statement. “It has been an honor to serve the people of Sherburne County, and I am committed to continuing our work together to create a stronger, more vibrant community for all.”

Fobbe has a long history of public service. Prior to being on the Sherburne County Board, she served in the Minnesota Senate from 2007 to 2010 and was on the Princeton School Board from 2000 to 2007.

She has a bachelor of social work degree from the College of St. Benedict and has been a policy fellow at the Humphrey Institute, University of Minnesota.

In the press release announcing her candidacy for re-election as county commissioner, Fobbe is described as a dedicated advocate for the people of the county and with a demonstrated commitment to integrity, transparency and community engagement.

Fobbe said she seeks to continue her service and build upon the progress achieved during her tenure.

Throughout her term as Sherburne County commissioner, she said she has prioritized initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life for all residents. From promoting critical transportation projects to ensure public safety and accessibility to ensuring access to essential services, Fobbe said she has worked to address the diverse needs of Sherburne County.

As a respected leader in the community, she has earned the trust and support of the residents and her collaborative approach to governance and commitment to accountability have made her a valued voice in county affairs, according to the press release.

Fobbe invites residents of Sherburne County to join her in the journey toward a brighter future for the community.

“Together, we can continue to make Sherburne County a great place to live, work, and raise a family,” she said.
