Long time Sherburne County resident, former Mayor of Princeton and Baldwin Township Supervisor, and small business owner Brad Schumacher recently announced his candidacy for Sherburne County Commissioner in District 5. The district includes Zimmerman, Princeton, Baldwin Township and Precincts 1 and 2 of Livonia Township. Schumacher officially filed for the seat at the Sherburne County Courthouse on the first day of the candidate filing period.

“As a conservative, I’m running on a platform of fiscal responsibility and smart spending that keeps taxes under control, support for law enforcement, efficient growth in our communities, and standing up for the traditional moral values held by Sherburne County families,” Schumacher said.

Schumacher is a long time Sherburne County resident who grew up in Elk River and graduated from Princeton High School. He has extensive government experience, having served as past Chairman of the Baldwin Township Board of Supervisors and later as Mayor of Princeton. He has been previously employed as a concrete laborer and worked in Sales and Finance before becoming a licensed real estate agent and property manager.

“I have been honored to be elected as Township Supervisor and Mayor, and in both positions I always worked to empower residents and serve with honesty and integrity. This experience has prepared me to take on the responsibilities of County Commissioner with dedication and enthusiasm,” said Schumacher.

Schumacher is a strong defender of the Second Amendment and enjoys boating, watching all Minnesota sports teams and is an avid motorcyclist. He welcomes contact from anyone with questions about his positions on the issues or if they are interested in joining his campaign, and can be reached at 612-716- 3566 or via his website, www.voteforschumacher.com.

“Sherburne County has a bright future ahead if we elect candidates who bring real life experience to the table and boldly advocate for change that benefits working class families,” Schumacher concluded.
