BECKER, Minn. — An attempted traffic stop on a stolen pickup resulted in a four car crash that injured three people, one of which severely, in Sherburne County. The Minnesota State Patrol says around 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office was trying to stop a pickup recently reported stolen from the City of St. Cloud.

BECKER, MN, (July 06, 2024) - A four-vehicle crash Saturday evening in Sherburne County left three people injured, the Minnesota State Patrol reported. According to troopers, the Sherburne County Sheriff's Office attempted to stop a stolen Dodge Ram truck from the Saint Cloud. However, the truck failed to stop for the deputies. In the city of Becker, at the intersection of U.S. Highway 10 and Liberty Lane, the truck entered the highway from Liberty and collided with a 2007 Toyota Camry that was traveling east on U.S. 10. The Toyota then collided with a 2017 Kia Niro that was heading west.

Search warrant leads to drugs, arrest of Princeton-area man
Members of the Sherburne County Drug Task Force and Emergency Response Unit executed a search warrant Thursday, June 13, and arrested a Princeton area man after finding drugs and paraphernalia used to package and sell drugs. The warrant was executed at a residence in the 29500 block of 128th Street NW in Baldwin Township, according to Sheriff Joel Brott. Investigators discovered more than 37 grams of methamphetamine, scales to weigh drugs, paraphernalia to use drugs, and multiple firearms that the homeowner was ineligible to possess because of previous criminal convictions, Brott said. Investigators arrested Joshua Bennett Byker, 41, and booked him at Sherburne County Jail on charges of drug possession and sales, storing meth in the presence of a child, possessing a firearm when ineligible to do so, and child neglect or endangerment.
