Chocolate Buttercream Icing Recipe: Easy and Delicious!

Homemade chocolate buttercream frosting is so simple to make and it tastes much better than the ones you can buy in the store in those little round cans. It only takes a few minutes to make this icing. You will need the following ingredients:

Recipe:

8 tablespoons of softened butter

3 1/2 cups of powdered sugar

8 tablespoons of powdered cocoa

1 teaspoons of vanilla

3 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream, or maybe more

1/4 teaspoon of salt

Add the butter to a medium bowl and using a mixer cream the butter for3 - 5 minutes or until it gets a light and smooth texture.

Add the powdered sugar cocoa, vanilla, salt and whipping cream and whip until it is light and fluffy. If the icing is too thick add a little more haevy whipping cream. Enjoy!

Tip I sift my powdered sugar and cocoa so that I make sure it does not have any lumps in it as this will show up as lumps in the icing.

I use this icing on various desserts that I make from store bought cake box mixes, to homemade cakes or brownines. Whatever I put this icing on it is a family favorite.

Note: You can double this recipe if you are making a large sheet cake or a layered cake and half it if you just need a small amout.

Store this icing in the refrigerator.
