    Cinnamon Roll Recipe in Twenty Minutes or Less: Easy and Delicious!

    I do make homemade from scratch cinnamon rolls several times a year, but as we all know, they take several hours to make so I came up with this recipe a long time ago using crescent roll dough and they taste amazing. They take less than 20 minutes to make. You will need the following ingredients:

    Recipe:

    1 can of crescent roll dough sheets

    1/2 cup of brown sugar

    1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon

    3 - 4 tablespoons of butter, softened

    1/2 cup of powdered sugar

    2 - 3 teaspoons of milk or heavy whipping cream

    Preheat the oven 375 degrees.

    Roll the crescent dough out into a rectangle and cover the dough with the softened butter leaving about a 1/2 inch clear on one of the long sides.

    In a small bowl, add the brown sugar and cinnamon and mix together until it is well combined.

    Sprinkle the dough with this sugar mixture, still leaving the 1/2 inch of the dough clear and push the cinnamon mixture down using a spoon or your hands.

    Roll the dough up, starting at the end opposite of the clear dough and make a rolled up long rectangle. The section of the dough that is clear needs to be crimped to the rolled dough to seal the dough.

    Cut the dough log into 1 inch thick pieces and place on a greased sheet pan and push them down a little with your hands or a spoon.

    Bake for 10 - 12 minutes or until the rolls are done and golden brown.

    Remove from the oven.

    In a small bowl add the powdered sugar and the milk and mix this together until it has a pourable icing consistancy. Tip: I use a fork to drizzle the icing over the rolls but you could also dip the rolls into the icing. Enjoy!

    Note: You can also use the triangle crescent rolls just make sure to seal the edges around all the triangles making a sheet of dough.

    I like to serve these for breakfast with a side of scrambled eggs or fruit.
