Upcoming candidate forum for primary candidates
SHERIDAN — On Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the WYO Theater, the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce’s Government Affairs Committee is hosting a Candidate Forum for primary election candidates in contested races. The forum will provide candidates space to share information about themselves and their platforms. This will include a brief introduction, a Q&A period and a closing statement. The moderator will ask all questions, as due to time limitations, no direct questions from the public will be allowed. The public is welcome to attend, and the forum will be recorded and available on the Chamber of Commerce YouTube within 48 hours after the event.
City council set to vote whether to pursue grants for south downtown project
A train hauling grain derailed just outside Clearmont Monday evening. BNSF Railway crews worked through the night to clear the mess and were working to determine what caused the derailment. Sheridan County Emergency Management Coordinator Jesse Ludikhuize said the county's role after a derailment is to check for damage on county property and ensuring the safety of the public.
