Boone EDC Breaks Grounds on New Facility for Gorton’s Seafood
United States Cold Storage Inc. (USCS) expects by spring 2025 to complete a 107,200. square-foot addition at its Lebanon, IN, public refrigerated warehouse, northwest of Indianapolis. In conjunction, Gorton’s Seafood, Gloucester, MA, will construct its own attached seafood processing facility, which is scheduled to open in late 2025 and employ as many as 160 people.

Residents at Lake Meadows Assisted Living and Memory Care had their own waterpark July 20 with help from volunteers from Highmark Church. Residents sat in inflatable boats while volunteers pulled them along the Slip-N-Slide, with an arched rainbow sprinkler at one end to make sure everyone got extra wet. Life Enrichment Director Nadine Graham stated that the center plans to make this an annual event for residents.

Commission on veterans, military families launched – The City of Carmel has launched the Mayor’s Advisory Commission on Veterans and Military Families, an initiative dedicated to addressing the unique needs and challenges faced by veterans and military families within the community. City Councilor Matthew Snyder will serve as chairperson of this commission, a volunteer body composed of up to nine members, appointed by Mayor Sue Finkam. Members were chosen from a diverse cross-section of the armed services veteran residents and business owners of Carmel.
