Chase leads to arrests after carjacking on east side of Indianapolis
INDIANAPOLIS — Two men are in custody after an armed carjacking on Washington Street at Lasalle Street, just east of Purdue Polytechnic High School. The carjacking happened just after midnight Sunday, July 28. The owner of the car said he gave a ride to two men. When they arrived at the destination, the driver said one of the men punched him in the face. Then, the other passenger hit him in the head with a gun, before pointing it at him and telling him to get out of the car.

Mulberry Library Closes This Week; Overdue Items Will Not Receive Fines
The Frankfort Community Public Library announced that the Mulberry Community Library will be closed this week for construction and will reopen following Aug. 2. The Mulberry Community Library will be closed from Monday, July 29 through Friday, Aug. 2 for construction. The library announced that no fines or fees will be incurred during the week as patrons will be permitted to keep their items for an extra week before returning them on Saturday, Aug. 3 without the added fines.
