A former top Sortis Holdings executive has refiled a wrongful termination lawsuit against the company and claimed it didn’t fulfill a $95,000 settlement agreement. The dispute is the latest problem for Sortis Holdings, now named SoHi Brands, a company that holds investments in a mix of some of Portland’s more popular restaurants, coffee shops, hotels and barber shops. Chains in its portfolio include Rudy’s, Bamboo Sushi and Sizzle Pie.

The Portland Saturday Market enters its 51st year with an Oregon Heritage Tradition designation by the Oregon Heritage Commission. The Portland Saturday Market is the 28th event in Oregon to be designed an Oregon Heritage Tradition. Salem congregation perseveres one year after arson
SALEM, Ore. — The congregation of Salem's oldest Catholic parish is slowly moving forward, one year after the building was destroyed by fire. On Monday, 49-year-old Billy Sweeten was sentenced to 38 months, or a little over three years, in prison for first-degree arson, along with 36 months of post-prison supervision. In Aug. 2023, Sweeten lit recycling bins on fire at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Salem. The flames spread through the church, extensively damaging the roof.
