After threatening cuts, MTA now has faith Gov. Hochul will fill $15B congestion pricing hole
This tunnel on Manhattan East Side was partially finished in the 1970s for the Second Avenue subway. The MTA plans to use it for the extension of the line into East Harlem, but the work will remain on hold until Gov. Kathy Hochul either unfreezes congestion pricing or reaches a deal with lawmakers on a new funding source for the transit agency. New York is changing exit numbers on these Upstate NY highways
The New York State Department of Transportation has begun changing exit numbers on multiple highways in Central New York. Exits on Interstate 81, Interstate 690 and state Route 481 will be updated to numbers matching their mile markers along each highway, the DOT announced last month. Exit 11 for Ithaca/Cortland on I-81 recently changed to Exit 52 and Exit 13 for state Rt. 281/Preble is now Exit 62; both include smaller signs noting the “old exit” number.
Oishei Children’s Hospital Receives Nearly $3 Million
A part of a $15 million investment statewide to help protect and care for the mental health of children and young people from historically underserved populations, Gov. Kathy Hochul earlier this week announced a $2.9 million award to Oishei Children’s Hospital in Buffalo to help provide programs to reduce suicide risk in young residents.

The advisory was for Suffolk County. "The Flood Advisory will expire at 5:15 p.m. this afternoon for a portion of southeast New York, including the following area, Suffolk. The heavy rain has ended. Flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat. Please continue to heed remaining road closures," according to the National Weather Service.
