    ROSE CITY COMIC CON — A huge annual event in Portland, the Rose City Comic Con celebrates comics, gaming, sci-fi, cosplay, anime, fantasy and much more at Oregon Convention Center, 777 N.E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. It takes place Sept. 6-8. More: rosecitycomiccon.com .

    BEAVERTON CELEBRATION PARADE — Honoring the city’s past and present, the Beaverton Celebration Parade is scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon on Sept. 7 from Southwest Griffith Drive via Southwest Fifth Avenue to Southwest Menlo Drive. The 10th annual Beaverton Sun Run will kick off the parade festivities earlier in the day. For more information, go online ( beavertonoregon.gov ).

    DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL — The annual Portland Dragon Boat Festival will be held on the Willamette River, Sept. 7-8. More: portlanddragonboats.com .
