The Lady Raiders got past second place Defiance’s 407 while Lincolnview (494), Celina (500) and Antwerp (539) completed the list of full teams. Fairview also participated but did not field a full squad.

Montpelier Rotary Contributes To Williams County Resource Guide
(PHOTO PROVIDED / THE VILLAGE REPORTER) DONATION … Montpelier Schools were represented at the August 12, 2024 meeting of the Montpelier Rotary Club. President Mike Moore announced Montpelier Rotary Club’s financial support of the Williams County Resource Guide. The Club will share the cost of printing the guide with Williams County United Way. Michelle Kannel, its editor, presented a brief history of the Resource Guide. Restarted in its present format in 2015, the guide includes more than 300 resources. Editors are working on the fourth revision with updates to the Guide facilitated by the Williams County ECHO Coalition and Montpelier Schools. Also in attendance: Travis Lichty, new superintendent for Montpelier Schools and Jennifer Fitzcharles, the new assistant social worker. School staff were guests of Rotarian Chris Kannel.

TPS unveils newly rehabbed Natural Science Technology Center
Kamila Hernandez, a soon-to-be freshman at the Natural Science Technology Center, was excited by the newly rehabbed facility on Elmer Drive. “I have always wanted to be an ethologist or zoologist, so I decided this was the best school to do that,” Kamila said. “All of the plants around here and the school makes me feel free to enjoy life.” Her mother, Lillian Ovalle, and father, Abel Hernandez, agreed. “We wanted the best school for our daughter to be in for what she wants to do,” Ms. Ovalle said. “That is why we moved from Palmetto, South Carolina. We searched online and this was the only school in the country with this programming. We moved to Toledo because of this school.”
