Although it was a little warm on Saturday, July 20. That didn’t stop Sherwood residents from flocking to the 71st annual the Robin Hood Festival and Parade in Old Town Sherwood.

The parade, whose theme was “Magical Merriment,” drew dancers, actors, bands and a handful of floats. It began at Langer’s Entertainment Center, headed down Southwest Century Drive, snaked down Sherwood Boulevard and finally onto Pine, First and Oregon streets before disbanding at the same location where it started.

In Old Town, residents flocked to enjoy vendor booths, medieval and Renaissance-themed performances and bands. Over at Sherwood High School, archers let arrows fly for the 69th annual International Archery Match between Sherwood and Nottingham, England. Archers from both teams compete in their own countries and then send each other their respective scores.
