HBCU Talladega College Is Fighting To Save Gymnastics Program
“Let's unite to keep the dreams of these young women alive.”. Though Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) have made major strides in sports, Talladega College recently announced that its gymnastics program will be cut after just one season. “While the decision to discontinue the gymnastics program was undoubtedly difficult, we remain incredibly proud of our gymnasts, coaches, and their remarkable achievements,” Talladega College Interim President Dr. Walter M. Kimbrough said. “Their dedication and resilience have set a high standard, and their legacy will continue to inspire.”

Mobile-born rapper HoneyKomb Brazy pleads guilty to federal gun charge
MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - A local rapper with a criminal record pleaded guilty Thursday to a federal gun charge stemming from a traffic stop in December. Nahshon Terral Jones, who performs under the name HoneyKomb Brazy, admitted to being a felon in possession of a firearm. As part of the plea bargain, prosecutors and the defense agreed to jointly recommend a sentence between 2½ and 3½ years in prison. U.S. District Judge Kristi DuBose set sentencing for Oct. 25.
