Whoopi Goldberg Launches New Cannabis Line Called ‘WhoopFam’ in California

On July 20 , Whoopi Goldberg celebrated the launch of her new cannabis line, WhoopFam, at a star-studded event held at The Woods.

The EGOT-winning actress received the Key to West Hollywood for her unwavering support of the LGBTQIA+ community and for establishing the first branded and tested woman-owned cannabis brand in California .

The red carpet event featured appearances by West Hollywood Mayor John M. Erickson and Vice Mayor Chelsea Beyers.

Prior to the ceremony , Goldberg held a nine-minute press conference to discuss the honor and the launch of her new cannabis lines under the WhoopFam umbrella : Emma & Clyde and a revamped Whoopi & Maya line.

The Whoopi & Maya line shut down in 2020 after three years in business .

According to the WeHo Times :

“Emma & Clyde, named after Goldberg’s late mother and brother, will be available in select stores in California, Arizona , and Ohio . Initially launched in 2022 with a limited run in Arizona, the brand offers products for both medical and recreational users, including edibles, pre-rolls, flowers , and accessories . Goldberg’s second brand, Whoopi & Maya, originally launched in 2016 and shuttered less than four years later, returns with a focus on menstrual relief, general pain relief, and holistic wellness . The line includes cacao edibles, tinctures, topicals, and hydrotherapy products.”

The WhoopFam website states :

Goldberg, who made history in 2002 as the first Black woman to achieve EGOT status, currently serves as the moderator on ABC’s Emmy-winning talk show “The View.”

Her venture into the cannabis industry highlights her commitment to wellness and holistic health , as well as her desire to support diverse communities through innovative products.
