The highly anticipated release party for Latto’s new album , “Sugar Honey Iced Tea,” was full of excitement and surprises . However, one specific moment has sparked heated debate among fans : the rapper’s recreation of Lauren London’s iconic cascade scene from the classic film ATL.

Latto’s love of Atlanta was fully displayed yesterday (August 9); the “Big Mama” rapper invited fans to her Sugar Honey Iced Tea album release party at an Atlanta cultural landmark.

At the entrance, a massive inflatable of Latto’s buttocks was seen towering over anyone who dared to pass by. It even included a modified version of Latto’s infamous leopard panties (which nearly sold for six figures on eBay). To prevent the figure from being confused with anyone else, the maker embroidered Latto’s name on each butt cheek.

Other attendees also created special moments inside Cascade; the skating rink’s entryway stole the show. In terms of replicas, the creation was impressively accurate.

Complete with neon lights , skates, and music from the early 2000s, the setting set the tone for Latto’s homage to the classic coming-of-age film.

Latto , known for her bold and unapologetic style , took to the stage dressed modestly in a red halter top, Apple Bottoms jeans, and trainers, drawing inspiration from Lauren London’s Atlanta character New New.
She also gave short performances inspired by the famous iconic movie scene.

While some fans praised Latto’s tribute to a beloved film and cultural icon , others criticized the recreation as disrespectful and an attempt to capitalize on London’s popularity.
