Rapper ScarLip has revealed a softer side of her personality, admitting that despite her tough exterior, she deserves to be treated with kindness and respect.

Scar Lip, who is making her presence heard with her aggressive delivery and sharp punchlines, shared this recent PSA after a public fiasco with her boyfriend.

She made the bold decision to end her relationship after receiving a series of hurtful comments from her boyfriend. Earlier this month, a video of ScarLip’s boyfriend criticizing her looks went viral. The video captured the unidentified man telling Scar Lip that she only looks pretty “sometimes.”

During a recent candid conversation, the rising star made it clear that, despite her tough exterior, she deserves to be treated with love and softness, just like any other woman. She spoke out in an honest and emotional statement about the gap between how people perceive her and who she truly is.

“People get surprised that I’m a woman,” ScarLip explained. “I put my hands on every last one of you; watch how you talk to me. You know what I mean? It gets like that and stays like that. Like I’m also soft. I’m a woman. I get my period. Yeah, I’m a hardcore woman. I understand that. But you don’t think I deserve love? And to be held by a man and nurtured? Just because I’m a hardcore woman.”

“I’m a really hardcore woman. I’m a masculine woman. A big, strong woman,” she continued. “But that doesn’t mean a btch can’t cry and sht. I cry a lot of times, you know.”

Scar Lip is rising from a troubled childhood to become one of the hottest upcoming emcees. The rapper’s traumatic childhood experiences shaped who she is today. Her mother died in a hit-and-run car accident when she was 12 years old.

Her brother inflicted a traumatic injury on her lip when she was a child, leaving her with a distinctive scar. Scar Lip alleges that she was abused by her uncle and aunt while living with them. She soon moved into foster care after leaving the abusive home and began writing poetry to cope with the events that had occurred.

She writes about these experiences in her songs “Therapy,” “Foster Care,” and “Suicide Awareness.”
