Two visionary women are breathing new life into Atlantic Beach , South Carolina’s historic Black-owned coastal gem. Dr. Tiffani Bailey Lash and Dr. Tashni-Ann Dubroy, co-founders of Tilair Capital , are spearheading efforts to preserve and revitalize this unique community .
Reviving “The Black Pearl”: A Mission Beyond Real Estate

Lash discovered Atlantic Beach during a family vacation . She recalls, “I walked the streets, met friendly neighbors , and it just felt like a happy community.” This experience inspired the creation of Serenity by Tilair.
Preserving Black Ownership in a Changing Landscape
Atlantic Beach stands out for its continued Black ownership . Dubroy notes, “90% or 92% of the ownership is still in the hands of Black people .” This statistic is remarkable given the history of Black land loss elsewhere.
However, challenges remain. The duo emphasizes the importance of educating future generations about legacy and ownership. They aim to protect these properties while ensuring they benefit the community economically and culturally.
A Call for Compassionate Investors and Community Builders
