The breakup between DDG and Halle Bailey has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry. Just nine months after welcoming their baby boy, the rapper announced their separation, leaving fans stunned.

Their breakup comes barely a week after the viral seductive moment between Usher and Halle Bailey in Los Angeles.

In his announcement, DDG stated that the split was not an easy decision but ultimately the best path forward for both parties. The rapper also stated that they will continue to support each other as co-parents of their son, Halo.

“After much reflection and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways,” the YouTuber and rapper, 26, wrote on his Instagram Story on Thursday, October 3.

“This decision was not easy, but we believe it’s the best path forward for us both. I cherish the time we’ve spent together and the love we’ve shared.”

Rumors of DDG and Halle Bailey dating began when the two were spotted together at Usher’s Las Vegas residency in January 2022. Shortly after, in March of that same year, DDG confirmed their relationship with a sweet birthday tribute to Bailey on Instagram.

They welcomed a son, Halo, late in 2023 and announced his birth in January.

While the official reason for the split remains undisclosed, rumors have been circulating that a flirty moment between Halle and R&B icon Usher, which unfolded during one of his Past Present Future Tour stops, may have played a role.

According to reports, at one point during the show, Usher approached Halle and attempted to feed her a cherry. However, DDG quickly intervened and took over the feeding himself. This seemingly innocent gesture has sparked speculation among fans that there may have been underlying tensions between DDG and Usher, potentially leading to the breakup.

However, according to the rapper, it was a hard decision for them to split, but they jointly decided that it was the best way forward.

DDG disclosed that he and The Little Mermaid star will “focus on our individual journeys and our roles as co-parents” as they “cherish the bond we’ve built and the beautiful moments we’ve shared.”

He then asked fans for “understanding and support” as they “navigate this transition.”
